My sweet Daddy

This is a picture of my wonderful dad that I took last Sunday. We recently were told by the doctor that my dad has been preliminarly been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. This news was really no shock to us since we have noticed that he has really slowed down the last year or so. Still, we are devistated. My mom is filled with sadness and tears. We are thankful that he has something that will take year to take its toll, but still, we fear the future. Parkinsons in not a curable disease, but medicine will make him feel way better. He will see a neurologist on Jan.3, and he will determine more. I would greatly appriciate your prayers for my family. Thanks

Happy Thanksgiving!

We had a very odd Thanksgiving with out Ross this year. He had the opportunity to go home to Wyoming for a week so he took it! We got a great deal on a plane ticket, but the catch is that he would fly home on Thanksgiving day. I decided that since my parents both had to work that day, I would have my family over . I just had to get new plates for my first Thanksgiving. So, here they are. Posted by Ross & Beth at 11/24/2007 07:54:00 PM 3 comments

Camera Happy!!

My girls absolutely love to take pictures. They also like to look at all of our family pictures that I store on our computer. As they were looking the other day, they said, "all the pictures are of just us kids. Daddy is in a few, but you are never in them." I tried to explain to them that the reason is because I am always taking the picture. (which is fine with me) The only real way to make them be fine with the idea that I wasnt in any of the pictures was to let them each take their own pictures of me with them. It is in their blood to take pictures, and they love it. Ross' sister, Jamie is an outstanding photographer. I have her work all over my house. I hope one of my kids follows in her footsteps. I will be interested what the Bichel Christmas card will look like since my son won't smile for the camera-EVER!!Posted by Ross & Beth at 11/08/2007 05:16:00 PM 3 comments

JUST TO LET YOU KNOW
You may already know about this, but I just learned about a kids moviecoming out in December starring Nicole Kidman. It's called The GoldenCompass, and while it will be a watered down version, it is based on aseries of children's books about killing God (It is the anti-Narnia). Pleasefollow this link, and then pass it on. From what I understand, the hope isto get a lot of kids to see the movie - which won't seem too bad - and thenget the parents to buy the books for their kids for Christmas. The quotesfrom the author sum it all up. I'm going to tell everyone about this movie. Please go to this link to learn more about why this movie is bad.http://snopes.com/politics/religion/compass.asp

MOTHER OF THE YEAR AWARD!!!!!

OK, so I know single moms out there do these kind of things all the time but I am used to having the best husband ever basically do all the hard things with the kids when we go on an outing, and I just tag along for the ride and feed everyone. So, yesterday Ross woke up totally not feeling good. The rest of us have all already had "the crud", and his turn struck yesterday. So, I wasnt about to stay home since we have all been sick the last 3 weekends. I bundled up the kids in the rain and we went, once again, to the pumpkin patch. The girls both go with school but Levi and I also needed our pumpkins. I dont usually ever have trouble with the girls. Maybe since they are older? They seem to be great every time we do anything, and they were. Levi, on the other hand, is a bit of a challenge. At this farm, a trolly takes you out to the patch to pick your pumpkin. Needless to say, in the one picture you can see how far out in the boonies this was. We had already been at the farm doing all the activities for over an hour and it was getting very close to nap time. Not wanting to deprive my kids from getting the biggest pumpkin of all, I let them pick whatever they wanted. Did I mention that I had to carry this pumpkin all the way back to the road for the trolly to pick us back up? Well, I did. Levi cried from the time we got off the trolly to the time we got back on. I left him in the middle of the patch laying on his back in the mud while I carried the pumpkins to the road. Over all, we had the best time...... just another piece of our lifes memory book. When we got home, got cleaned up, and Levi took a much needed nap; we carved our pumpkins. Here is the finished product.

Our Weekend
There he is!!!!
It was a very DULL weekend for us. EVERYONE IS SICK!! We layed around all weeked which is so not typical for us. Ross is the only one that has managed to stay healthy. He worked outside most of the day trying to avoid any germ contact. Dana has been doing so well reading to her brother and sister. Her homework requires 20 minutes of reading per night. So, she likes to take that time and read to them. SO CUTE!!
